California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, Corcoran (SATF)Topic and discussion specific to CSATF- Substance Abuse Treatment Facility located at Corcoran State Prison in California.
My brother Joey has been in Corcoran for about two weeks. We got a letter from him today. They are moving him to Old Folsom or Pleasant Valley. I think this is a good thing.
I thought I responed to this thread or is this posted elsewhere too?Anyway, It depends on what race he is. I see your in No. Calif. well old Folsom is closer to visit. I'm assuming that he is a level 3 prisoner. All level 3 yardes are serious places, but to tell you the truth I'd rather be on a 3 yard than a 2 yard. I don't mind living under a gun. People think twice before doing stupid crap. You also have many more convicts than inmates, & this is always good as far as I'm concerned.---------Ken
My son spent 7 years at Pleasant Valley State Prison! It is owned by 10 corporations and he can learn a trade there! They just transferred over 400 prisoners from PVSP to CMC and Folsom. PVSP is going to have a hospital built next to it for those who will be released and need mental help before release.
I know Folsom will be closer to you and your mom. This might be the best! I have heard it is over crowded there, but hey I think all prison's are over crowded!
I'm so glad they moved him from Corcoron...I get mail occassionally from an inmate there and i hear it's ahorrible place to be....
Hope all goes well for him at Old Folsom...God Bless
By now I'm sure you know how things are for your brother. I am new here so I'm just now reading your post. I have 2 sons that are in CA prisons (they are CAU/Mex). My Joey just left New Folsom and is now at Pelican Bay. While at New Folsom (SAC) once he was off lockdown I had to make sure I visited him the first day possible to get a contact visit (if I didn't seems like he would be locked down again before the next wknd.) The last 6 mths he was there he was in Ad Seg because his uncle (correctional officer) let it be known he was related!. My youngest son Bobby has been at Pleasant Valley for about 2 1/2 yrs now. He's on A-yard and at the most has only been locked down a couple of times for no more than just a few days.
