Hours:
Week Days: 2:30-8:30
Week-ends: 10:00-8:00
You can check in 30 minutes before visitation begins.
8 visits a month, inmate is to keep track of visit’s number, will not let you in if not your visiting day.
Holidays-regular visitation schedule
Check in at Information Desk, give them your license and his inmate number, sign in on visiting logbook-right in front of desk, they will call his name when he is in the visiting room, sit and wait right there until then.
You can get a locker for your things, 25 cents, the only things you can take in is license, locker key, photo tickets, and $15 in change, must put money in a cup, Cups for money at check-in.
Do not bring in cell phone/pagers.
$15 per one visitor, up to $45 for group of visitors, limit 5.
Change machine there, but does sometimes have problems, I always bring my change with me.
Picture Tickets: $3, limit 4, they do not always have film.
Go to the Bathroom before you go in, you only get one bathroom break, and after that they charge you and/or the inmate for another visit.
Visiting Rules are at the desk, too, it’s to your benefit to read them at some time.
Once they call his name, go up to the front, CO will take you in; they will show you where to set your money, key, license down.
They will put a number on your hand, pat search you down, you have to take your shoes/socks off so CO can look, they may look in your mouth, they give you a visitor’s pass/paperwork, put on visitor’s pass, they let you through another door, go straight to the CO’s desk, give them paperwork, he’s right there by desk, Now you can kiss and hug right there, and the CO will tell you where to sit.
Vending: Get stuff out of the vending as soon as you get there if you want the better food.
Visitation Rules: Seem to be stricter on day shift.
No extra kissing or touching, they will be watching.
Follow rules, don’t ever ignore.
Some toys, books, crayons, coloring books
Visits can be terminated due to space limitations, those there the longest will be first asked to leave, unless traveled 400 miles or more round trip.
What’s the food like?
Food isn’t bad for vending machine food, depends on what Vending Co. put in that day, all different prices.
Possible: Sandwiches, salads, yogurt, cheese trays, hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, subs, candy bars, chips, popcorn, granola bars, pop, water.

Bare cells, no blankets, no communication with others, no privileges, 24/7 Lockdown
Hours of daily lockdown - shift change, count times:
Shift changes: 12:45-1:30 PM, will not let you in/out during shift change.
Count: 11:00 - 12:00
Count: 4:00-5:00 PM, during visitation, no movement at that time.
Lockdown: 8:45 PM
Driving directions:
Parnall Rd. Exit is right off North/South 127
Turn on Parnall Rd., go through 3 lights, past State Police Post, on left side of road, can park towards the front door.
General
This prison is the minimum-security section of what was part of the former State Prison of Southern Michigan. When the entire complex is divided into separate facilities, Parnall will also contain the old No. 7 block.
Programming
AA, NA, Assaultive Offenders, Anger Management, Sex Offenders classes, GED Training, Auto Repair class, Gardening class.
Parnall Correctional Facility offers educational, vocational and religious programs, as well as psychological treatment. Work assignments in food service, maintenance and Michigan State Industries are available.
There is a health care unit at the facility. The Duane L. Waters Hospital, which treats more serious health problems, is nearby.
Security
The perimeter of this prison consists of two chain link fences that are topped with razor-ribbon wire.
