Monmouth county's info can be found on the monmouth county sheriff's site Vare It depends on what his last name is but you can call the number or look it up on the site. Also you CAN bring in your pocketbook but no cell phones cigarettes or lighters. You do NOT have to put them in a locker and they visits are basically like 15-20 minutes long behind a glass and you have to speak through some little hole in the glass..It kinda sucks. When you first get there (GET THERE EARLY!!!! About 45 minutes early) Wait on line and when they open the doors give them proper ID (license or passport)and go through the metal detector and they will search your bag. Proceed foward to the guys sittin at the counter and give them your inmates name and your ID. They will write his name on a sheet of paper and there cell number after it. Go have a seat. When the paper fills up they will put it next to the door and call first visit and you have to go up to the paper find his name and see what number is next to it (not the one he wrote but the number already printed on the paper) then u go in the doors and look on top of the wall for the numbers and find the one that matches the number next to his name on the paper and have a seat and wait there like 15-20 minutes and they will send him out. You do not have to be on a list but kids must be with a parent

Each visitor may visit only one male and one female inmate each day.
  • Visitors must be 18 years old to register for a visit Proper
  • Photo Identification and attire are required.

To where?
If it's a state prison, you either mail to the prison addressed to him or drop off at a visit a money order with his name and SBI number on it. If mailed, the mailrom will take it and send it to business office to be credited to his account. If dropped off during visiting, each prsion has a slightly different way. Some you give when you register to visit with a form filled out, some you put in an evelope and drop in a slot, which will also be sent to the business office for credit.

If it's county. each may be slightly different. You can call the county jail and they will tell you and some have websites that tell you exactly how they work it with money for his account.

Welcome. Sorry you have to be here but greetings. Read around, they's lots of helpful information here.

I'm sure the information above was correct when it was posted 7 years ago. That said, the visitor registration times at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) have since changed. If you want the current visitor registration times, please call the jail at (732) 431-7860. After following the appropriate prompts, an automated voice will tell you the current visiting hours.

On a related note, you can check to see if someone is in the Monmouth County Jail in one of three ways:

(1) Go to http://www.app.com/section/DATA and then click on the link for Monmouth County Jail Inmates. This site shows only current inmates. The site is supposedly updated every hour.

(2) Go to https://www.vinelink.com/vinelink/initMap.do and then click on the State of New Jersey on the map. Afterwards, follow the prompts.

(3) Call (877) 846-3465 and follow the prompts.

I prefer using the second option. The VINE system will let you register online to be notified anytime the custody status of an offender changes. They will send you an email or have an automated voice call you whenever there is a custody change (e.g., released on bail, transfer to another institution, sentence completed, etc).

Also, if you are writing to an inmate at the MCCI and that inmate has a common name (e.g., John Smith), it is a good idea to put that inmate's date of birth (DOB) on the envelope that you are mailing. If you don't know the inmates DOB, check the first link provided above. That Data Universe site will give you the inmate's DOB and the inmate's booking number. You can also put the inmate's booking number on the envelope just to be on the safe side. Always include a return address on the envelope.

+1 for option #3 (#2 is just as good too). Make sure you have your ID on your or you WILL NOT get in.
