Hi Misty!! Its Dee. Heres some info for you.The Phone# to Fulton(FRDC) is (573)592-4040.Visits are Thursday 9:00am- 2:00pm and Fridays 3:00pm- 8:00pm. these are non contact visits its thru a glass. It sucks there. This place is where they send everyone for intake to evaluate and decide where they will go for their time.they are locked down like 22 hrs a day,and have limited acess to a phone.Im sure they can have a visit after 3 weeks but call and ask to be sure and I think they can only have a visit 2x's a month. And visits are 2hrs long only.Unless they have changed this.Im not sure but I dont think that you have to be approved to visit there.but once he gets to where hes going he will have too send you a visitors form and it takes about 3 weeks tro get approved. You better call FRDC first to check and make sure but I dont remember filling out a visiting form for FRDC.I live here in Fulton so if you get lost or need help while your here I'd be glad to help.heres the web adress for FRDC (Fulton) http://www.doc.Missouri.gov/division/adult/fulton1.htm "they have a map" on there.Hope this helped take care girl..Dee Dee

I visited there about 2 years ago and I had to be approved to see him. And your right the visits there are terrible. I would just call there and I am sure they will give you all the details. Good luck!

okay ladies i called and found out that he doesn't have his visitation packet yet, but it will probably be this week. then its just getting approved which will be no problem. they also said they might keep him there since he has 120 days. my question now is.....he just called and said he got a letter from the parole board that said the judge will be looking at him after he's been there 90 days, he is wondering if they will let him out after that as long as he is in no trouble...what do ya think?

Ive heard of guys getting out after 85-90 days that were sentenced to 120 days. Is this his first offense? And Ive also seen them do 110 days of 120 and get turned down for a silly thing like not having their bed made right or having a book on the bed. That happend to a friend of mine and he had to go back to FRDC and then got sent up for another year and1/2 to finish his original sentence. Hope all goes well for him. They are picky a**holes in them treatment centers.he'd be better off where he is.

My husband was a perm there and got out in May. Until he is a perm he only gets one visit a month. Make sure when you visit, you cannot wear any shirts with a hood, no short shirts or shorts. It is best to wear pants and a plain shirt that covers everything. If he becomes a perm there there are 10 visits per month (8 or 10) and you can visit on Thurs 9-2, Fri 3-8, Sat 9-2 or 3-8 and Sunday the same. make sure that you keep your hands above the tables. There are some nice officers and some real poop heads. So long as you respect them, they will respect you. I wish you the best of luck. This whole ordeal has really changed both of our lives. He has changed so much. We are trying to work through it but I am still skeptical. Just keep your head up, and keep smiling.

Mistyls~

The 90 day thing is an evaluation for the judge that sent him there to see. The evaluation of your guy is based on how well he is behaving and so forth. The evaluation is given by the probation and parole board. I am not all the way sure, but I think they call the prison and get a summary of how your guy has been doing and then they forward their reccomendation to the judge. Some get let out at 90 and some don't. I know how you feel. Chris is there too and I have had to make phone call after phone call to get information. It is a never ending story! Your guy will get a packet with a first letter home and other important information. You will have to be approved before you can go visit. He can have 4 family members and 1 significant other on the list. It took my guy about 4 days and they told him I was approved. Once that's done then you just call and you can visit. I have already been there once, and I am going back tomorrow (thursday) for an orientation and a special visit. I am really excited! Everyone at this site is so helpful and they are right, it helps the time go by fast. Eventually, a case worker will come and give your guy and evaluation and "classify" him as a c1-c5 with c5 being the worst. This is how they determine where he can get sent if he even gets sent. They will have all the paper work about his past and they will give him his release date and a bunch other stuff. That's all I can think of right now, but if you have any other questions, I will be happy to try and answer them... Take care...

Pam

I JUST WORE A BUTTON UP SHIRT, CAPRI PANTS AND WHITE SHOES. THEY DIDNT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MY BRA (IT HAD A WIRE..LOL) YOU WILL NEED YOUR DRIVERS LICENCE WHEN YOU GO. THAT IS ALL THEY LET YOU HAVE BESIDES A KEY TO A LOCKER (THEY LET YOU LOCK UP YOUR PURSE AND OTHER STUFF) I GOT TO KEEP ON MY JEWLERY AND STUFF. IT WASNT TOO BAD...THEY WERE NICE TOO. HOPE THIS HELPS.

I just visited my boyfriend there last night. It is not the most pleasent place...but what prison is? You have to be on the list - so call to make sure before you drive all the way there to make sure. You cannot take anything with you...the only thing they will allow you through with is your driver license or ID and the piece of paper the guard hands you. Don't wear a jacket either...they will make you take it off too. Then they lead you through to this small hallway of booths...it's very, very hard to hear and it's through the glass. You get exactly two hours and that is it and from what I understand, only one visit per month while they are being classified. I hope that helps. Also - they do head count around 6pm..so try to get there before then.

I don't think so hun.You should go in together but I think they can leave before you to give you some private time. Its another one of them things probly depends on what guard is working. You might want to call and ask ahead of time.I hope you get a visit soon.Take care Dee Dee

Default Fulton Visits

Well it's an experience there, that's for sure. My husband just left there after being stuck there for 5 months locked down with no TV. The visits are 1 a month for 2 hours. He needs to put you on a visiting list and you can go as soon as you like. The hours are what was just quoted to you previously. But be prepared. It's LOUD! and it's dirty! My husband lost 25lbs while there. But the guards are nice. Better than most places. Better than where he is now...The Walls! Still locked down for 22 hours but he has a TV now. Calls are less than Fulton but the visits are much better. That's a very long drive for you. In Jeff City there is a place to stay for $5. Just a bed and showers down the hall. It's not to far from Fulton. You have to call for reservations though. They do this for the inmates families. It's called the Agape House 810 East High St. Jefferson City 573-636-5737. I here it's good. A Christian enviroment. Check it out it may help you. Good luck!

Your guys are right. The visits there are tough, very loud and no privacy. Not very clean either. Mistyls, what was his sentence. Everyone is right. If he is a perm there the visits do get better and they are contact. There is another room next to the room you will go in Thursday. Thats' where the perms get their visit. My husband wasn't a perm. He was waiting for transfer but that didn't happen for 5 months because of over crowding. He finally transfered 2 weeks ago but it's just as bad where he is now. But I can sit next to him now. Thank God! If yours is lucky enough to do a 120 Shock tell him to be thankful. Also, my brother did one and had he know that he could do 2 more months and not be on probation he would have done that. If you do the 120 you will get probation and that sucks! A lot of people there are back on parole and probation violations right now. If this is his first offense he has a good chance of getting the 120. Just depends on the length of his sentence and the charges. Good luck.

It depends on the charge and how he acts while inside. It also depends on how many time he has been in before. THere are too many factors to give an exact time. It's all up to him and the parole board.

Question Fulton

Hi, I'm new to this whole thing. My husband is in County waiting to be sent to Fulton, and I was wondering how long it will be to get a phone call from him in Fulton. Does he have to wait until after orientation to get a phone call? I'm really worried about him. I have heard so many horror stories about the 120 day shock program and how easy it is to get sent away for your back-up time. We are having a baby and I'm due August 3rd. If he does exactly 120 days he will be out 10 days before I'm due. I guess I really don't know what to expect....help?

Once he gets there, they will issue him a pin number to use to make phone calls. I am not sure about the phones there or if you can get an account set up first, or put money on his account. But, he should be able to call within a week or so. If you do decide to send him money, be sure it won't be confiscated for the victims fund or any restitution he has to make.

I don't know too much about Fulton, but others on here do and will be long, I'm sure!

Welcome to PTO.

To anyone visiting Fulton soon: Please try to get a message to my friend Russ Diemer (DEEmer) who arrived there 11/16. Tell him we know where he is and may come see him in December. (He goes to 120/treatment after medical clearance.) Miss and love him. EM
The information you have all provided is awesome & I will drop in here again to see what more I can find out about the place before I visit.
I have a question - while waiting for med clearance to get to treatment the only visit is through a glass? But what is visitation like when they are in treatment? Will it be like general pop guys who get to hold hands, or also through glass?
I was in Vandalia because my abusive exhusband went to the hospital with a 357 hole in his stomach. I know how everything depends on what guard you have to deal with. I'm sorry anyone has to be in places like this. I got stuck in treatment because my attorney asked for 120 days - which is always treatment and means money comes in. I didn't need couseling for substance abuse - I needed couseling for domestic violent abuse; begged my couselor for it -- never got it. But all the employees I had to speak with said the judge was on my side and I'd get out at 120 as long as I stayed out of trouble. I did, and been out 7 years. Never going back.
Thanks to anyone who helps get that message through. He was taken and couldn't let me know. Peace to all and I'll pray for all the guys in there.
Oh! Phone calls - anyone know who handles those and how much they charge? Lovely they want to rip the little money you have out of your pocket to cause us more problems, yes? I could probably drive up there 10 times for what a couple phone calls will cost.

Now the thing is charges other than for treatment -- you spend 80% of the time given; 80% of 7 years. And yes, it greatly depends on whether they stay out of trouble and always on the board. EM

its best just to wait until you know for sure where he will end up as the visiting is different at all places. first he will go from county to reception and diagnostics, there are 3 or 4 prisons where that is done at, usually sent to the one closest to where he is now. then after going through a series of things his level will be determined and then will be assigned to a permanent facility. all of this takes time, sometimes more then 30 days in R & O. if there for more then 30 days then you are allowed one no contact(behind glass) visit. Best just to wait and ask us questions when you know where he is at. we are more then willing to help you. good luck.
