Visitation at Byrd Prison Unit in Huntsville Texas...
Well babe was moved there last week and he told me that I would be able to visit him. When I called to make sure he was there last Fri, they informed that he is not allowed visitors because he hasn't been assigned a unit yet. I got a letter yesterday, and he's asking me what happened, why wasn't I there. Shouldn't he know that he isn't allowed visitors? Anyway, what are the chances that he will be assigned a unit but not be moved there immediately. I want to try to visit Sat or Sun. I just am confused as to why he expected me there, and they told me on the phone that he isn't allowed visits until he is assigned a unit.
If he's in the intake process, he won't be able to have a visit for 30 days. He should know that but if this is his first time he may not realize it. I think the visiting list is one of the first items filled out so he may think you can visit but that isn't the case. If he's not in intake then not sure what is going on.
Intake is when they do the classification process and all the info for parole eligibility dates, etc. Maybe they are continuing the process? Maybe someone will be around to answer your question better. Sorry.
