anyone have any info on the Jim Rudd Unit?

No, not really. But you can visit the TDCJ website and it will have a directory of all the units in the state along with an address, phone number, and stats. My cousin worked there about 5 or 6 years ago and liked it. I think that unit is a Pre-parole/transfer facility;I'm not sure. All I know is that it is on the side of the Lamesa highway.

Yes, My son is at the unit and we visit every Saturday. All visits are contact visits. The guards for the most part are very nice to us. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. We just came from a visit today. It is really in the middle of no where. They don't check your car. You just drive up and park in the red spaces. You can take quarters in but nothing else.
