Default Intro--rhondafrommt from Montana

I'm a returning member. It's been several yrs since I've visited Prison Talk. I'm back for the same reason. My son is back in prison. He was found guilty for attempted murder. He was sentenced to over 50 yrs. Just recently in my home town two young adults murdered two people, cut them up, put them in barrels with some sort of chemical. They got 30 yrs. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper. I have been reading about different cases involving actual murder and a lot of them have been given less time than my son, for attempted murder. Anyway that's it for now. Glad to be back

Welcome back to Prison Talk. Comparing sentences will upset you every time someone receives less time than your Son did. Sentences usually depend on the luck (good or bad) of which judge gets assigned to the case.

Welcome back to PTO Rhondafrmmnt. We're glad to have you back although we're sorry for why.
Reading other folks's sentencing results is going to drive you nuts. You don't know what the other folks's criminal history was, you don't know what deals were on the table or anything like that. So don't compare sentencing. ( I am not saying its all fair, I am saying don't drive yourself crazy.)

In the meantime- welcome back and start reading - again.
"One of the casualties of [prison life] is the numbness of the heart"- Man on Fire

There is no question that in virtually all circumstances in which people are doing things in order to get rewards, extrinsic tangible rewards undermine intrinsic motivation." the New Scientist (12th April 2011, pp 40-43)

" Every life you touch, every fear or pain you ease, every loved ones' heart that you ease the burden from is the reason you are here."
