Arrow Sudden transfer to immigration

Hi everyone,

my fiancé is in a federal prison in Pennsylvania, and his release date is supposed to be Oct 23 (or Sept 23 depending on if they give him some days back). Yesterday (July 30) he was told that he would be transferred to immigration on Thursday Aug 4th. It was very sudden and we really didn't expect this so soon !

We have no idea where he is going, and for how long.... He will be deported to Mexico afterwards (this is not the problem, on the contrary, we can't wait for him to be there!).

I know I need to check the BOP inmate locator + the ICE locator once he will be transferred, but I really would like to have some more infos:

Are they able to contact us by phone when they reach the new facility? Can they send/get letters? (I am in France). If they used to have Corrlinks, do they still have it? Are the ICE/immigration centers like jails?

Can we send them clothes when they leave the immigration?

Have someone been through this recently? I am in France, and I have very few contacts who can help me with this.... thank you !

I can't answer your ICE questions, but I have heard that they can speed up the process by waiving, or agreeing to be deported without waiting (years?) for a deportation hearing.

He has already signed his deportation papers LONG AGO, so I don't think he will have a new hearing....but who knows?...

Thank you for your answer

ICE is a federal program, so the detention is very similar to the Fed facility now. He can make calls and have visits. They have facilities for people going to court (pretrial) & serving time (detention).

There is 111 holding jails so they can send him anywhere they have room. I can't answer about the clothes and stuff. They can have visits. Not sure about corrlinks. They are federal programs so it's like federal prisons.
