Does anyone know anything about Texarkana?

My 20 yr old son arrived there on Friday June 25, and we haven't heard from him. I don't really know what to expect. Is this normal?Thanks in advance for any answers.Connie

I believe the intake process takes about 4 days and he will not be allowed to call right away for awhile. He will be able to write letters even during the intake process . So to answer your question, it is normal.

My son's father got transferred there last summer and it took about 1-week to call. Hopefully by now you have heard from him, otherwise it shouldn't be much longer.

As far as the facility goes, I heard its okay. My son's father hasn't had any problems there.

Thanks, We heard from him on Monday. It was great. He seems to be doing OK.

Is he in the camp or the fci?? You will need to send him some money so that he can call you. The first phone call will be on the case managers phone but after that he will have to pay for all calls
