Default What About Time Served Waiting For SAFP - Crain Texas Prison Unit

My wife was sentenced to a SAFP Special Needs Unit possibly at Crain. She is currently in Denton County Jail waiting for a bed. SAFP will be a 9 month program. My question is, will the time she spends in County go towards her time in SAFP as time served. She has been in County for a month already and still waiting. We would just like to know if County time will be counted. if it does, will she be released to a half way house after 8 months in SAFP?? Does it depend on the county? What kind of information do y'all have on this??

generally speaking, the time awaiting transfer does not count towards the program length.

She was sent to Crain following her fifth week. Now she can get started with the program. She's been sober for the last 18 months so she's there to fulfil her 12th Step. Hopefully the time flies. Now I just have to find out all I can about visitation...
