Default Metal free bras NOT "sports"

I've been wearing the same awful sports bra for a year now(lol) and HATE that thing! Seriously, who has boobs that look like that?!
I read the thread about ordering the plastic under "wires" but I don't sew and don't plan on learning. Also, aren't the clasps in the back of bras metal anyway?
I'm a 36 D and need some support at least. Anybody know of a great metal-less bra?

What about the backs? Are the clasps not metal or is it a stretchy material?

Victoria Secrets has no wire bras as well. I have one and its the best bra I've ever bought!! It's called "The Amazing" and it is AMAZING lol. They have that one and another one. Expensive but worth every penny!

Default Visiting Bra

I removed the extra hooks in the back thinking that was sufficient as well as removing the underwire...but it was the metal hooks that hold the straps together went off in the metal detector..had to cut those out and sew the bra down completely - it's snug, but fits well because it's my size and I'ma DDD.

It was a pain to sit there and sew my bra down, but it worked and I NEVER have to worry about my bra going off in the metal detector.

I'm a 38D and I wore the wireless bra by Bally's. I had one in black and nude. It was ok, not my choice in a bra but it worked. Oh, and the clasp is metal but every prison I visited would allow you to hold the back of the bra where the clasps were if the metal detector was super sensitive. I only had that problem right after they recalebrated (spelled wrong) the machine and I went to Lancaster, CMC, Donovan, Centinela, Corcoran II and Cailpatria with those same two bras.

I'm at least a 40 D and a little plump at that.
I bought a bra from Wal-Mart (yes Wal-Mart) that works well and makes my ladies look good, give support and has no "wire".
They hook in front and have a plastic hook. The cup is formed and so makes them look well shaped. They are inexpensive too.

Excellent question! I have been wondering the same thing. MY girls are no small potatoes. A sports bra would never work for me, even if they came in my size. I wear an H cup. Lane Bryant has a no wire bra. Not sure how good it is though. I am planning to try it out. The no underwire thing kills me! It was not made for us voluptuous girls in mind.

The clasps on mine are metal. I've never worn it into a prison but have never had a problem setting off alarms anywhere else.

Are the snaps really that much of a problem? I would think they would be about the same as a zipper.

Some zippers are made out of aluminum and some almost a plastic some metal. The trick is to know what you got before you go.

Thanks for that! I agree. I've seen a large breast female wearing sports bra's and it looked like she didn't have anything on. I felt bad for her because she looked so uncomfortable. Like I said, I took my bra apart and sewed it done...it fits better than the bra with underwire..it's a little tight, but works.

That's good to know. I realized that my workout bra (for at home use only) is a Lane Bryant, no wire bra. But it is older. I looked in the mirror and I guess this type will have to do. I hate to but a bra for one weekend (this will be my first, last, and only visit to see him) that I will probably not wear again, but what choice do I have.

FYI Lane Bryant is having a buy 2 get one free deal on bras now, but I think it will end soon.

I was at the drug store today and saw The Genie bra and bought it ( Them. There are 2 in a pack for 20 bucks). I put one on for a trial run, lol, and so far so good. I do wished it would "lift" a little more. Does anyone have any experience with Genie AND the Milana? I want to know if the Miana gives more of a lift.
Wow, the things we go through for a visit huh?

My girlfriend swears by the 24 Playtex bra. They come in white, nude, and black. She gets hers at JC Pennys. I've also seen them at Walmart and Kmart. She has been using them for the last 20 years and has NEVER had an issue with the metal detector. No need to sew or remove ANYTHING , I looked into it when trying to find a bra myself. I have not used them personally, as they were too big for me.
Maybe another type of bra, to look into.

I just bought some seamless bras by Delta Burke that I found in Marshall's for $9.99 for two and they come large, 1x, 2x and 3x....I am about a 42dd so the 3x is what I bought and they fit nice and have support!

The no wire one I have from lane Bryant is made like a t-shirt bra- very sturdy- doesnt look non wire. I actually wear them all the time, not just visits. I'm a D cup so not small but holds up fine! They are on sale right now too

I've read so many bad reviews for those things on the internet. No support whatsoever and they look saggy after a few wears.
