Default Marriage in Ohio Prison

I've looked through the Prison Wedding Forums without much luck pertaining to Pickaway. I have an idea of how the process goes, but was wondering if anyone had any information?

I am not familiar with Pickaway but there are OHIO procedures and you can follow those. Check out the Ohio DRC site and the procedures are listed in there. Also, the chaplain in that facility should be able to give you step by step directions on what you need to do and in order.

Talking

My husband and I got married at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility last week. He got the marriage paperwork from the case manager there and it explained what documents we needed and what we would need to do. I had to get copies of both of our birth certificates and social security cards, find my own minister and get a copy of his license to perform weddings, and fill out a bunch of paperwork. Then it had to get approved by the warden. I then had to meet with the case manager and they took me down to the courthouse to get the marriage license and they married us at the prison a few days later. It was a long process and kind of frustrating since it is so hard to get ahold of people at the prison. It took us about a year to get everything set up, but it was wonderful and well worth the wait! Not sure if it is the same at Pickaway, but I thought I would share my experience. Good luck!

Thank you both I'm going to be trying to get ahold of the chaplain this week because even though I read the drc guidelines, I still have questions.
