Bridgewater State Hospital's mission is the establishment and maintenance of a safe, secure, and humane environment to all persons requiring specialized care and treatment. Massachusetts General Law requires that individuals who are determined to be in need of strict security because of the potential for endangering themselves or others be sent to Bridgewater State Hospital.

Visiting Information

Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday~ 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Tuesday and Thursday~7:00pm to 9:00pm
Saturday and Sunday~ 9:00am to 11:00am , and 1:00pm to 4:00pm

There is no limit on the number of weekely visits an inmate can get per week. Visits are 1-hour in length. No more than 3 visitors at a time are allowed in.

Dress Code:

The following articles of clothing ARE NOT permitted into the visiting room. No Shorts, halter tops, tube tops short blouses, nothing see-thru, black slacks with a white shirt (male only), tank tops, jeans of all colors (male only), sweat pants or jogging suits, T-shirts, Mini skirts, or skirts above the knee, no skirts or dresses with slits above knee, or wrap-arounds, sleeveless shirts, camouflage, overalls, hats or bandanas, sunglasses.

SEPARATE HOUSING UNITS
Infirmary - whenever a patient/inmate is in the Infirmary and a visitor request to visit, security staff notifies the on-call clinician who, along with the Unit Charge Officer, assesses the patient/inmate for clinical/security issues to determine if the patient/inmate is capable of receiving a visit .In the event the clinician/Charge Officer determines the visit would not be conducive to the patient's/inmate's condition, the clinician shall inform the visitors.
Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU) - Patients/inmates housed in the Intensive Treatment Unit may not have visits (except for attorney visits) unless prescheduled and approved by the Superintendent.

From Boston: Take Route 93 South/Southeast Expressway to the Braintree split at Route 3. Take Routes 128/93. Take Route 24 South to Route 495 South. Take exit 6 (Route 44). Bear right off the exit ramp. At the Middleboro rotary, take Routes 18/28 North. This is Bedford Street. Take a right onto the access road at the Bridgewater Correctional Complex sign.

From the North: Take Route 495 South to exit 6 (Route 44). Bear right off the exit ramp. At the Middleboro rotary, take Routes 18/28 North. This is Bedford Street. Take a right onto the access road at the Bridgewater Correctional Complex sign.

From the South: Take Route 495 North to exit 5 (Route 18 North/Route 44 East). Bear right off the exit ramp. At the Middleboro rotary, take Routes 18/28 North). This is Bedford Street. Take a right onto the access road at the Bridgewater Correctional Complex sign.

From the East: Take Route 44 West to the Middleboro rotary. Take Routes 18/28 North. This is Bedford Street. Take a right onto the access road at the Bridgewater Correcitonal Complex sign.

From the West: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Route 495 South. Take exit 6 (Route 44). Bear right off the exit ramp. At the Middleboro rotary, take the Routes 18/28 North. This is Bedford Street. Take a right onto the access road at the Bridgewater Correctional Complex.

How do i send canteen to relative money order no cash?

You will have to send a money order to the inmate. You cannot give him cash. When you send money to put on an inmates books, it is taken out of the envelope and deposited into the account of the inmate. Some prisons have drop boxes that allow you to drop the money order off at the prison.
