So far Briley's execution is still set for March 18. Hopefully this will be stayed.

Piper's new lawyer requested transcripts from the latest sentencing hearing, but commissioners declined to pay the 16-thousand dollars in transcript fees to the court reporter. But this week, the commission decided to pay the fees.

So the fees will be paid. Here is the article.

Wow.

If there's no news coming out how can we know if there are any updates to this?

We don't "pick and choose" who we get behind. Some of us know more about certain cases than others. Some of us are more personally bound to certain cases. I only know what I've read about this one and many others.

Enlighten us as to what you know about this one? Seems to me like you have more information than we do since you're posting on this thread and not the others.

Aggressive ?? If you feel attacked then maybe my statement has some truth to it. I asked a question. Pertaining to who or what some one might know. Now if no one is doing any thing to help this guy, then i have to ask why not. What makes some so worthy of 1000's of people supporting there cases, while others don't get any thing. I'm sorry but comes off as if with many people condemned that it would it would be a fight for them all. But it really seeems that is not the case. Now I know a vast number of you are anti, that's why I asked. So if no one feels the need or desire to help all over just one, then so be it. Now I have to get some things done before I report for duty at Leavenworth.

Please stay on topic. We are not here to discuss each others level of support or committment to any one person. This is a support site and we all want the same thing. To see the end of the death penalty

If you check the DPIC then it does say that Briley is likely to get a stay.

This is silly. He was just re-sentenced to death in 2011. His state appeal, which can not be waived, will take years. The chances that he will be executed on 3/18 or any time soon, are zero to none.
