Default Children with visitation

Let me say that visitation with children is not always an easy task. my boys were so excited today when they got to hug there step dad and I got to see how esential these visits really are to the kids.. they cherished this visit and really seemed to enjoy spending time with Anthony..

That's no joke! But, its fun to watch! They had a pretty good little playground on the patio of our visitation room..
Good idea but they didn't like it when we tried to climb into the club-house.. HAHA

We are not so lucky at the state level they have to entertain themselves and not toys or games.. But we bring in my sons gameboy any way most of the laws are cool with it but if not we just put it away.

I bring my 5 lil terrors with me and it isn't an easy task, but it helps them so much to get to see him once a week..even the baby-he bangs the glass screaming DADA-it breaks my heart but it is good for them and for Stephen. It is so hard to explain why they can't hug him...WOW! a playground would be a godsend!! But I can't complain too much-the guards push me through and give us extra time when I bring the kids thay are very understanding...even helped me push the carraige once..haha!! The last place Stephenwas did not allow children but once a month..but here they can go tewice a week..I think the DOC needs to encourage children to visit (make it more kid friendly) it helps the kids as well as the inmates!! Rambling again......

JUST A THOUGHT-I THINK IT IS GOOD TO BRING THE KIDS INDIVIDUALLY SOMETIMES-WHEN THEY ALL GO TOGETHER THEY COMPETE FOR HIS ATTENTION AND IT CAN BE OVERWHELMING FOR EVERYONE-THEY NEED INDIVIDUAL QUALITY TIME-I DO THIS SOMETIMES, AND I ALSO SOMETIMES GO BY MYSELF SO I CAN HAVE HIM ALL TO MYSELF FOR A VISIT

just wondering, do they allow you to bring a baby on a visit or do the children have to have a certain age before they are allowed to visit?

well amelia I was denied the request to donate the stuff to the unit.. I am putting in a call to the regional director because part of the visitation and family rights in texas says the TDCJ promotes family visits and trys to be as helpful as they can.. Well I am not getting any help and I think if someone want to donate something like games and coloring books to the unit then they should look into further..

what is their reason that they denied your request, Shortie? That's stupid.

They probably rejected the offer because they would have to take the time to look through and inspect each and every little piece of the game, crayons, and look through every page of the color books. Too much time and trouble for them so they don't want to mess with it.
