This is a satellite camp (of a medium FCI) - it is not a farm as they grow nothing. There are dormitories shaped in the form of an "X" - inside there are cubes with bunk beds and lockers.

The facility was built in the late 80s and is well kept, the grounds are very green (because of the rain).

Club Sheridan after coming out of dirty, over-crowded Lompoc wasn't such a bad place to finish the last couple years of time. I got drafted into landscaping and drove a tractor lawn mower Monday through Friday, rain or shine. Mostly rain. The mowing job came with a few perks besides the 12 cents an hour it paid. While mowing all those fields I would accidentally retrieve all the contraband that had been secreted away at a designated drop-spot for other cons. The usual stuff, you know, the half gallons of whiskey, clothes, shoes, radios and some things that mower-man didn't even know about nor did he want to know.

Sheridan is clean, for me that was important. Lompoc had roaches in the kitchen and dining room, cats and rats and raccoons running around. Sheridan was right in the flight path for several species of migratory birds, bald eagles all over, deer, rain, and more rain, and more rain.

During the three weeks of Summer that Sheridan would experience, before it got cold and started raining again, we had quite a baseball league. Yes sir, those magical dog days of summer at Club Sheridan where the convicts drunk on whiskey were allowed to arm themselves with baseball bats. Instead of giving us all breathalyzers, cuffing us up and hauling us off to the hole, the guards spread the word on the streets of how good of teams we had. So they started inviting outside teams in to play us drunk cons. Go figure.

There is a UNICOR, a furniture factory ( there was, I suppose there still is). Other work is the auto shop, a welding shop, of course landscaping. Other than that the work is the normal silly prison jobs. There is a small hobby shop and chapel.

Sheridan is OK and it will be good for your son to be near his family. That's why I was moved up there, to be near my wife who I hadn't seen much of for many years. That transfer did us a lot of good and I have the divorce papers from Yamhill, County to prove it.
