Default La Paz Unit

My guy just transfered from Oklahoma to La Paz unit in Yuma Prison. Does anyone have a loved one there? Just wondered about visitation etc.

I am already approved.....it took around 60 days last summer....felt like forever. Keep calling because they "lose" applications all the time. I am hoping to go visit in the next month so if any goes please let me know what to expect and any advice.

Does anyone know if the visitation is all in one room for all the units or are they seperate?

Default La Paz Visit last Sunday Oct. 24th

Well, I drove 3.5 hrs to the Yuma Prison last Sunday and had no problem with visitation. Just the usual. Follow dress code, etc. It's clean and new.
No need to call the prison like the ADC website asks. They are up and running. There are picnic tables out side and the weather is cooperating this time of year which was a bonus. Same awful food in the vending machines though. Will keep posting with any new info.

thanks for the help ladies! so when I drive there will I see signs to where the La Paz visitation is? Do I drive up to the main prison or are all the units separate? (sorry I like to know what to expect - helps keeps my nerves down!)

How do your guys like it there? Mine said it is better than expected. He is already on a softball team and getting settled in....5 months to go

U drive to the prison, park up front, a dof will sniff u to make sure u have nothing on u and then a van/bus will take u to the unit. There are inside and they drive around and drop people off. U go thru the metal dector once u get in there, fill out the form and then u enjoy the visit. Real easy. They are nice people. They are just really on the woman about dress code.
