help about money left...

i have a question...ok this is what happened ~> i went to go see my friend in the box last weekend (at greene) and i left him $20. he has tickets totaling over $100 i believe. ok so when i left him the money he told his mother when she visited him this sat that just passed that they took all of it. can they do that? i thought that they had to give him at least 50% of the money left for him because they need to take some out because of the tickets. well some one please tell me whats up with that...i would appreciate it much.

if he owes them money they can take it all....my baby has 2 fines on him, i sent him money and they took it all

at greene they take all of the money you give them, until the fine is 50% paid off. then once its 50% paid off, and he owes 50 bucks, and you put 20, they'll take ten. so once is half paid off, they'll take half of what u put down until its finished. got it? lil confusing...
