Default Cheshire level 2

20yr old Son was moved from Hartford toCheshire. At hartford he was classified by counselor as a level 2. I looked at the Cheshire site and it is level 4. Do they have level 2 there?

Any info you can provide would be appreciated. Concerned

Hopin

Hi Hopin and welcome to PTO.

Was your son recently sentenced? That could explain his move. He may have gone into Hartford for processing or presentencing, but once he was sentenced and processed they considered him a level 4. Although the crime makes up the majority of what level he is considered, other things come into play to during the classification review. Some of the items are: Violent History, Detainers, Security Risk Group, Discipline actions, Escape (I assume they mean attempts there).

Hope this helps!

He was classified as a level 2. I had found this out from the counselor at Hartford. Someone said that Cheshire is reopening level 2 (not public yet) due to overcrowding. Has anyone heard about this.

I do not know anything about Cheshire reopening a level 2 unit. I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Default cheshire annex

Although they closed the other level 2 at Webster. They still have a level 2 at Cheshire Annex in the back of the training facility. About 120 inmates there. Level 2 and those who are on there way to halfway houses.

Thank you for your response. Good luck with your son!! The annex building isnt bad.. No cells or bars and they have more freedom then big cheshire. I hope your son ends up there in march. Good luck and stay strong!!
