Would you want to know when you're going to die?

Don't be scared of me, I'm seriously not morbid or anything. This is just an interesting subject to kick around.

If you had the option to know the exact day, time and way you are going to die, would you want to know?

There are good and bad points to choosing yes and no.

On one hand you'd have the time to make everything smooth for your departure. I assume you'd probably cherish things that we take for granted on a daily basis. Maybe your children's whines wouldn't be as irritating if you knew you only had X number of days, weeks, months or years to live. Maybe you'd enjoy that walk with the dog instead of feeling like it's a task you must do. You'd be able to clear your conscious by being honest with people who have positively or negatively affected your life and you wouldn't have a reason not to have your finances squared away so your family would be well off. You'd do all those things you swore you wanted to do before you die and you'd have ample time to plan them.

On the flipside, perhaps you'd be filled with so much sorrow knowing your expiration date near that you wouldn't be unable to function properly. Maybe you would remove yourself from loved ones because you wouldn't want anyone to get close to you because you know you'll be gone. Maybe it's similar to being pregnant to where you wouldn't want to know the sex of your offspring? Maybe your time would be closer than you expected and would anger you to the point of saying, "F**k this! Why go on??".

I'm so undecided about this that I couldnt even vote. I've discussed this very Q with my bf heaps of times.. he's always no way, I dont want to know, when its time its time and I wouldnt want that thought in the back of my mind every single day. Whereas I'm kinda on the opposite spectrum and I'm such a planner and thinker that I would probably want to know so that I could plan things and make sure I did everything that I wanted to. Even when I have kids, l want to know the sex asap so that I can plan lol. Thats just the way I am.

But when it comes to death, I'm somehow on the fence. Cant choose sorry lol. Guess its a good thing this is a hypothetical qn lol

I would like to know, after my husbands unexpected death. I take NOTHING for granite anymore. Everyday is a blessing and should be lived to it's fullest

Dang, girl, I am already worrying about 2012 and then you bring a post like this

I dont believe I would want to know, I already WORRY nonstop about everything there is to worry about so I can imagine what a basket case I would be the week/da before my potential demise. So, no---I wouldnt want to know. You never know when your card will be pulled, live like you were dying

No. I have all paperwork in order. I've already lost people in my life so I try to make sure I tell family & friends thank you and I love you.

With how i am feeling as this moment, hell if i died in 10 minutes id be okay with it.
I mean i am sick! I hardly ever get sick but something has gotten a hold on me!
No, i wouldnt want to know. When the time comes, it comes.
Besides. lets say you find out you are going to die in an automobile accident on such and such a date. you know damn well you aint gonna get in a car on that day. So...maybe one might drive thru your house while you are sitting on the couch reading? I dunno.

I picked no, I would rather live my life to the fullest each day and not owrry about the end...and I would worry about the end if I knew when it was going to be.
I don't completly beleive in 2012, but honestly alot of signs the economy the crazy weather, the massive earthquakes, its enough to scare me into thinking that there might be something to it...lol I've even had some weird ass end of the world nightmares about me trying to break J out of prison b/c the world ended...So yeah I think about it and I might even perpare laittle when it gets closer, just in case.
