Phone Calls Help

Last night phone call from my boyfriend in Oakland County Jail Michigan to me in Tennessee was 15 min for $20.97 - wow that's a lot!! I don't know where he will get transferred to prison once he lives County but I hope the phone call prices goes down some if not this is going to add up fast! I have my cell phone set up now with a pre-paid amount from CBS. Any other ways to lower my bill? I don't want to change my phone # or have to pay any additional charges, etc. Thanks! I want to talk to him everyday but we can't afford to do that but I live for the sound of his voice.

Since you are paying for calls from another state they are going to stay outrageously expensive. The thing that works for us is too get a local number to the prison. Vonage is a good way to do this. Hostednumbers.com might be an option too. If you have any questions let me know. Hope this helps.

My fiance is in AZ, I am in CA. I got the prepaid cell (Verizon) with 602 (AZ) area code. I prepay the collect via myvconnect. My 12 min. max call now cost me a little under $5.00. Thats 2.50 for collect and around $2.50 for cell minutes. I was paying what you paid. Will have to review all this when he goes from jail to prison.
