FLDOC - What You Need to KnowInformation relating to the Florida Department of Corrections. Q&A for those new to the FLDOC system should be posted here.
Hello sweetpea, and Hello to everyone else! I have a question about appropriate visiting attire at New River East CI in Raiford. I have been reading in some threads on some of the other boards that some prisons are very picky about what one can and cannot wear.
Thanks!
hey! I would say to use your best judgment in what is appropriate and what is not, each facility differs and sometimes it does depend on what guards are working that day (stinks, I know!)...but you will NOT be allowed in wearing:
(1) Halter tops or other bra-less attire
(2) Underwear type tee shirts,
(3) Tank tops (usually NOT allowed)
(4) Fish net shirts,
(5) Skin tight clothing or spandex clothing (Including skin tight jeans)
(6) Clothes made with see-through fabric unless a non-see-through garment is worn underneath,
(7) Dresses, skirts, or Bermuda-length shorts more than three inches above the knee, or
(8) Any article of clothing with a picture or language which presents a potential threat to the security or order of the institution.
SOME institutions will SMOCK you if you do not dress properly (kind of like the smocks you use to wear in grade school)...Others will just make you leave (I use to always bring an extra top or something in the car with me if I had any doubts!)
Thanks sweetpea! But for the record, I'm not doing any visiting, I'm just curious.
