Default Is it true that once a felon always a felon?

Eight years has passed since a felon has been out of the system.. off probation and clean ever since. Is he still considered a felon as far as the "no contact" with felons rule applies???

Are they told that? My fiance does not seem to know anything about this since he is inviting people for dinner and such.

Statistically, yes

But in my heart of hearts, I believe this time is different and will be his last bid
As God listens 2 me n Spoken Word I pray my enemies get exactly what they deserve - Now left up 2 Him, they're no longer my problem - & 2 the rest I say stay up cuzz its crowded @ the bottom!

I believe rodeo is right...as long as they're doing paper time, they can't have contact with other felons. But just check with the parole officer. They can tell you for sure! If he's off probation or parole, then it shouldn't matter.

Despite being off parole (and way to go!) I would have to suggest that he clarify that with his old PO- There could be wrinkles like others who are off parole are perfectly fine but that he should not associate with current parolees (or that any friends currently on parole are not supposed to be hanging with him).... I expect that once off paper you can hang with whomever you want, but with the price of being wrong being a stiff one. I have to say "Contact the PO"
