Am I wrong?

Ok I know that I tend to over react sometimes but that is just me, well tonight I was bored adn decided to google my mans name and dc number. just his first and last name and the number. Well google brought up a site that said "email _______ _______ DC#________ for $2 or send him a letter. When I clicked on the link to the site it gave his picture, name, release date, zodiac sign, tattoos, etc. My man has never asked to be on any pe pal site in fact he hates pen pals! I was only able to get a contacting information by joining the site and I got their email address. not sure if it is real or not. But I emailed asking how to get his information off. It has every Florida inmate on it!!!!! Was I wrong or am I wrong for being upset that his information is out there like that? Look up your man or woman the site is prisonpost.com!!!

I plugged in my hubby's DC# and it didn't come up thank goodness!

mine's not on either & he has a weird name so it would 4sure come up. so i dunno about every1 in fla,. id sue their ass if i found my man on one cause fla isnt even supposed 2 have pen pals & theres no way he'd ever put in for one my husband is not even friendly like that for a pen pal.

ps- dammmmmm i just looked at that site they got alottta people on there! Who even has time to put all that up? Hmm

If whoever made that site did put everyone in florida on it - it must be kinda old cause i typed in my husbands celly in the search button on the site and the celly came up but it had the wrong prison info it was one the celly was at a while ago (cellys been locked up since 04). and i typed in 2 people i know that went to prison this year plus my husbands co defendent that went to prison in feb 2008 n nothin on him neither. i couldnt find no1 i know on it

I put in three names and one came up, but that's one too many. Not good. Are you willing to share the email address? I hate joining and appearing to support their site but will if I have to.

I'd make them remove my man the hell off there, FL aint even supposed to have pen pals...he could get in trouble for that sh***...I put my husband's name and he did not come up, if he did he'd be pissed cuz he ain't with all that.....

Just to clarify, Florida inmates can have penpals, they are simply not allowed to put themselves out there advertising for them on sites like this and other ones. They do it anyway (a friend of mine scored a very nice penpal in Europethrough a paid-advertising inmate penpal site). As for the tactics of the subject website, they are beyond reprehensible.

I was angry when I typed this so I am sorry for saying everyone was on there! But then again I see one I see too many on there lol thats just me! The email is jp@prisonpost.com. When I emailed I did inform them that a few of the people I located on there was either no longer in prison or their information has changed so how could they be a honest helping site if they can't even get their information right! They better get my man off of there because well just because! Thank you ladies for the responses I hope all is doing well! I am glad some of you were lucky enough not to find your loved ones on there!!

This has been posted before although I'm not sure if it's the same site. More than likely it's just someone copying the DOC website/database trying to make money.

You are not wrong in being pissed. Because no matter how it got there, if DOC finds out, guess who's gonna get a DR?

They can have 10000 PPs, they are just not allowed to solicit for them. And, that's just what this site does. However, there's nothing on there the site admin can't get from the DOC website, so don't hammer honey. I bet he doesn't even know he's being advertised on the internet.

Yall don't go hollering about this on the phone, either. Best to talk about this face to face or buried in the middle of a long, long letter.

Wow! That's crazy! I only know of one inmate in Florida, so I googled Justin Barber. He came up. That's so wrong!

I agree ..Now that you have put in his DC # , dont be surprised to find him on there now. They count on people using the site to get the info.. Check back once in awhile and see if the info was posted.

This site has been around for awhile and for sure DOC knows about it and is also aware that no inmate initiated a posting so I wouldn't worry about repercussions, although it takes only one la-la to fork over the $2 and then write to the inmate, "I saw your listing on the internet ..." to possibly cause trouble. I think we have better things to worry about, but it's good to know of this "just in case."

ok so they response that I got was that they will remove his information if i pay a $50 removal fee!!!!!!! What!!! I replied and it was saying that I should not have to pay because he never asked to join and what they are doing can get these men and women in trouble and to take his information off before I start to pull in lawyers and people from Tallahassee. And that this site must not care about these men and women because if they did they would remove the information free of charge and never put it up to begin with!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What else can I do? Can I really get lawyers and people in Tallahassee involved? It sounded good so I went with it lol!!!!!!!!
