MY BOYFRIEND IS ON DEATHROW IN GA AND THEY WON'T ALLOW US TO MARRY SO WE JUST SAID OUR VOWS TO EACH OTHER ANYBODY WITH SIMILIAR DRAMA PLEASE E-MAIL ME WITH YOUR STORIES.
Hi,
My boyfriend & I were denied too. He's not on DR, but one of his friends who was on DR was able to legally marry because they claimed religious discrimination, and were granted permission to have a Muslim ceremony. I was happy for them, but at the same time I feel that it's not fair for us to be denied because we're not religious, and that if they'd let them marry they should let everyone marry. Try calling the ACLU or the prison's Media Relations/Public Relations dept. & state your complaint. It's worth a try. Good luck & keep in touch.

Troysgl, Did they give you a reason as to why you could not be married? It seems that if it is just the fact he is on DR and they are denying you because of that you could use for discrimination on that basis. I am not sure but it is something to look into. Keep your head up girl talk to you soon
It's kinda funny, 'cause they let us get married, but there are no family visits for lifers, so my marriage cannot be consumated. We however do have strong faith in God and hold Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, so our marriage is consumated in Heaven. While men try to control what we feel and what we do, they cannot control our hearts and our minds. I think it's beautiful that you have said your vows to each other and God will honor that! Take care and God bless.
