Sending money to prisoner

Can anyone please tell me How We can send money from out of state to a ny prisoner. If I was to send a money order or check do I sent it directly to the prisoner or do I sent it to another department? If anyone can please help me it is appreciated.

Just send a money order in his name...they will take it on the way in and apply it to his account....Good Luck

Send A Money Order From The Post Office, I Believe There Is No Wait Time Before It Clears, Personal Checks, Escpecially Out Of State Will Take A Few Days To Clear. Just Send It To Him, As You Would A Letter, They'll Take Care Of It And Put It Into His Account. I Always Send A Letter With It So He Knows The Money Is There.

Just send it in a money order, but do make sure it has his name and number on it, so he recieves it no problem. And you would send it to him, then it gets applied to his account when it comes through the mail room.

when they have search charges does the whole amount that you send them go to the fine? he asked me to send him the whole amount so that he could get things in there. they were not letting $ thru to him until the fine was clear. then on the visit i gave $50. and they said a % would go to him and the rest to the fine, but i could not leave him more then $50. has anyone send money out for a ticket they got? please let me know...thank you
