Prayers to Yosvanis, his family friends and supporters at this sad time.

The petition
Yosvanis Valle, is housed on Texas DeathRow, he was born 7 sep 1975 and has been on Deathrow since May 2001 for a crime he did not commit..
If Yosvanis had adequate legal assistance, he would no longer be on deathrow. But all appeals have been denied.
There is no Evidence against him, no fingerprints, no traces of blood. All they have is the statement of another gang member in which Yosvanis used to belong to, This other gang member who was accused of the crime, negotiated and only received a 8 year prison sentence.

Gang leader ‘not scared to die'
‘El Cubano,’ whose execution is set for Tuesday, has had a decade to reflect on his crime of murder
By ALLAN TURNER
HOUSTON CHRONICLE
Nov. 8, 2009, 6:46AM
LIVINGSTON — El Cubano's body slumps in the shadowy cell, but his doughy, pallid face, branded with his gang's telltale teardrop tattoo, pushes within inches of the window between him and his visitor. He pauses a moment, adjusts the telephone receiver, then in a propulsive stream of heavily accented English says: “I know what you want to ask me. I know what you want to know. You want to know what I'm going to say for my final words when they kill me.”
Yosvanis “El Cubano” Valle, 34, leader of the prison gang known as La Raza Unida, has had a full decade to ruminate on his crime — the robbery-murder of Houston drug dealer Jose “Yogi” Junco on June 7, 1999 — and to compose his exit speech.
Another execution based solely on the testimony of a co-conspirator. No other evidence. The co-conspirator got 8 yrs. I don't know what happened that night--none of us do. Shouldn't a little real evidence exist before a man loses his life?

So, so sad...
I just read the articles by following both the links given above - either Junco's girlfriend or the attorney general gets the story wrong, at least when it comes to the part who put the pillow over her face.
It seems that Yosvanis never really matured - and with the US prison system in mind, I doubt that anybody has ever taken the effort to show him the right way during his numerous incarceration which is a failure of the system.
My thoughts go out to Yosvanis, his girlfriend Victoria and all his family, friends and loved ones.
You know what I find interesting. You are always hearing that those in prison are nothing but scum, they are liars and you cannot trust them. However, when it comes to getting a death sentence for some one, EVERYONE believes the jailhouse snitch. They don't lie.....

I live in Texas and I am surprised at the executions that are coming up before the end of the year. I don't know much about the stories, just what I have read on the TDCJ website, but I can only imagine what the prisoner and families are going through. My thoughts and prayers are not only with Yosvania and his family, but to all the other prisoners and families that not only are acheduled, but the ones that have already been taken away. Death is final, there is not any way to right the wrong if someoene is innocent. God Bless you all that are dealing with this. My heart truly goes out to you.

The execution is scheduled for today.
Please call the office of Governor Rick Perry at (001)(512) 463-2000 to ask for clemency or simply to protest this execution.
