I had another thread a bit back, stating how frustrated I was trying to get my calls billed. Well, that got straightened out BUT it seems like I am paying way way more than the going MCI rate.
(When my guy first tried to call (using special adaptive phone equipment) the CO couldn't get to MCI and used an ATT number and every since we have had our calls placed , by the CO, through ATT. The CO has to start the call by getting the front desk and having them dial the special operator who also has the adaptive equipment to talk to me via phone)then leaves).
I always get "this is the ATT operator with a ...."
Our calls are fine. I epected the high bill. BUT, the costs per minute are all over the place and out of sight. ha I pay 35 to 45 cents a minute for calls. a 30 min. evening call costs $11.80. The rate differs from one night to the next. A friend who uses MCI with her guy pays $7.80 every time. If we say they are doing a $3 connection fee, I am still paying 29.3 ( on average) cents per minute for these calls.
I don't evne know what to ask. I tried to call ATT inmate services and they said the prices are all different(which I already noticed...lol) and they didn't know what the 'going rate' was...sigh
Anyone have any idea how I can get a quote on ATT rates and see whether this bill is right or not?
Thanks,
Caprione
