Hi and welcome to PTO!! Yeah, I hear visiting at the fire camps is GREAT. Here is a link to the fire camp forum, you will be able to get your question answered better here.

http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/for...lay.php?f=1084

If you are bringing your nieces, you need to make sure you have a notarized letter from their guardian stating that you are allowed to bring the kids into a prison. You might want to bring original birth certificates also. Again, please check the link I gave you as there is alot more information there.

Good Luck to you and enjoy your visit

Wink

The visiting hours are 9:30am-3:30pm Saturday and Sunday. There are no vending machines on the camp grounds so you must bring your own food/snacks/drinks(example Subway, Mc Donald's, Microwavable food)The officers there are great and since it's snowing there now BBQ would probably be out the question until the weather clears up. If you have more questions feel free to pm me Have great visit

Default Visiting Info for Antelope Camp

Antelope Fire Camp #25

1.) Visiting hours are 9:30-3:30 Saturdays and Sundays and designated holidays. Make sure to call the camp before you visit to insure your loved one is there.

2.) The camp is on CCC grounds. If you've been to CCC to visit, you are going to go past the Visiting Center and at the first stop sign, make a right. You'll find the parking lot on the right hand side with wood fencing and a big sign saying "Welcome to Antelope CC #25".
3.) Bring your id to the office to sign in, along with all your groceries and sit them on the bench outside for the COs to inspect.
4.) Only store or restaurant bought food is allowed- nothing homemade. One CO told me not to bring peaches or fleshy fruit (because they have seen fruit injected with alcohol), but every CO is different- I was let in with peaches, grapes, strawberries, and pineapples another time. Just depends. No glass. Remember to bring matchlit charcoal if you want to BBQ (they have matches for you).
5.) There are about 6 picnic tables and a gazebo, along with a tiny fenced in pond with fish. Some tables are covered with woodwork for shade, some are not. It doesn't matter, as the visiting area is well-shaded throughout (I'd even recommend bringing a light sweater/jacket as it can get really cool out there!). There are also 2 BBQ grills. There is a swing set for kids (and adults ) to play, and it's grassy throughout, but there is no sitting in the grass allowed.
6.) Clothes- No spaghetti strapped tank tops, short skirts, no orange. Other then that they are pretty leinient.
7.) Visiting Room- they have a VERY SMALL visiting room, with a microwave, TV and VCR, along with board games and cards. I imagine people use it during the colder months, but I'm sure it can get pretty crowded.
8.) Photos- You check out the poloroid camera but you have to bring your own film.
9.) Kissing and touching...all they ask is that you remain appropriate, no full blown make out sessions.
10.) Make sure that you bring EVERYTHING to your visit (ice, cooler, even knives- just warn them that's in your bags). Overall, the staff is very nice and lenient and want to insure you have a good visit. When I was there, they stayed in the office the entire time and came out only for count.

It's a beautiful visiting area and it doesn't look like many people visit at any given time, but it's really nice!

Sorry to hear that Sporto is getting transferred to a new camp. It is probably better that they transfer him instead of waiting until they roll him up for something stupid. Is this camp closer to you? I hope he likes the new camp better. Be patient. I am sure you will have your family visit soon.

Default has anyone had a family visit at Antelope?

My husband is being transferred to Antelope this week and this means our scheduled family visit for the camp he is at currently is canceled. I was looking for information about the family visit procedures Antelope has like how often (30,60 or 90 days?) and where they have them because I read in another thread they were at CCC. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

FV used to be held on Prison Grounds because Antelope did not have the facilities for those visits. The same procedures applied like ordering your food from the prison. Call in advance if those same rules still apply. It's been some years when I used to visit that camp. From what I do remember from the people that had FV they were held on prison grounds.

Yes they are allowed to use the phone.

If you were approved for visits the form should be good now. However you do need to check before hand because in some camps your visit approval notice will be no good and they require you to fill out another.

I think the limits are the same. (Not sure) They are allowed so many edengent (pre stamped) envelopes maybe he is able to get some of those for now from the camp till he gets his.
