Hi there and Welcome to PTO and the California Forum.
If he mainlined, you do NOT have to make an appt to see him. Just show up. If he is higher than a level one, then you will be going through the processing doors and not the Level One and SHU bus to see him. The Yards, A, B & C are right thru the processing doors after you walk thru the medal detector & get your hand stamped.
They will write on your visitor pass in the upper corner of the pass, his yard he is on. Then you will know, OR you can just ask them when you are going through the medal detector.
Friday visits are from 12:30 - 7pm. You can NOT be on the property a minute before 12:30. Same goes for the weekend visits, Saturday & Sunday. The hours for Sat/Sunday are: 8am - 2:30pm. You can bring up to $50 for you two to eat. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask me or anyone here on the Corcoran forum.

JQ summed it up.
You can also call the records @ the prison to get his housing.
Can't think of the Ext. off hand...it's either 5034 or 5074.
&& out of curiousity...where are you from? I live in the Bay too.

Just called today to find out! Turns out HE'S STILL IN THE SHU!! I am so disappointed!! =( No contact! I'm driving out to see him on Sat! I'm so excited! When I called I asked for his address and they gave me the same address I had and also the Lady who scheduled the App told me he was in level 4...

Hi there and WELCOME.
Do you want info on CORCORAN 1 (old Corcoran) or the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility - Corcoran?
If Corcoran 1, here is the guide to look over. I put alot of the visiting in there. Pretty specific.
If you need anymore info that may not be in there, just post a message on my page or here and someone will help you!
Best of Luck to you!

Friday visits are best. They usually are not as crowded as Saturday/Sunday. For Friday, if you get there by 12:10pm, you are good. And for Saturday/Sunday, if you get there by 7:30am you should be fine. Even if you get there when they let you on the grounds, processing is pretty quick, it wouldn't be a problem.
Friday visits are: 12:30 - 7pm (let you on the grounds at 12:30)
Sat/Sunday are: 8:00am - 2:30pm (let you on at 8am)
GOOD LUCK!

the car line for waiting to get in is on the side street directly up from te prison, (I think its Plymouth). You will be directed to turn around and go there if you are early and go to the gate. you may be ticketed if you park on the side of the road directly outside the prison.
Good visiting

Hey, I'm not sure if any of you saw the memo posted this weekend, but starting June 13th you can make appointments for visiting. And starting July 11th it is mandatory to make an appointment if you wish to visit before 11am. Also starting July 11th, if you don't have an appointment you will not be allowed on grounds till 11am. Appointments are only required for Saturday and Sunday, you don't need one if you visit on Friday.

Also I know yesterday they were taking down appointments for Father's Day weekend, they are going to process the appointments first before anyone else. So say you get there 8:00 but don't have an appointment you have to wait till after all the 8:30 people are processed. So even though you aren't required to have an appointment, just yet, it is still a good idea to make so you can adjust to the new rule.
