dmmke has it pretty close. It is Powder River and Shutter Creek but we knew what you meant my friend!!!

Remember that even if they are eligable that does not necessarily mean they will get in for sure but have your guy continue to talk with his counselor and they will tell him which one he is more likely attend. He doesn't get to pick between the two.

Good luck!

Default Phone calls from Dear Ridge

My gut just was transferred to Dear Ridge from EOCI yesterday. Does anyone know how long it will be before he can call me and the time limit on phone calls please? At EOCI it was 15 minutes. I hope it is longer.

Hi APearl,

My guy is at Deer Ridge. I wouldn't think it would be longer than a day until he can call. When my guy was transferred there from Columbia River it was the next morning that he called me. The phone calls are 30 minutes so you will probably like that after EOCI. We've been there also and yes, those are some quick phone calls.
Enjoy your calls and hopefully visits to come.

D&S,

Whoops, I just realized I said "my gut" when I meant "my guy," funny. Thankyou for your reply. He did call me today and it was wonderful we could talk for 30 minutes. He likes Dear Ridge much better than EOCI. I won't be able to visit him until June because I live in FLorida right now, but I am happy he is closer to the Portland area. That drive to Pendleton was horrible.

Default Transfer to Snake River...puzzled

My loved one was transferred about a month ago fron EOCI to Dear Ridge. Now today he was transferred to Snake River. I don't get why. Dear Ridge seemed more suited for hom and he was hoping to get into AIC but I don't think Snake River offers that. Any ideas? He liked Dear Ridge and does not need A GED or mental health treatment. Puzzled. He was in Minimum now he is back in a cell and has done nothing wrong.

Hi, D&S
We have a family member that just moved to Madras - Deer Ridge...is your guy still there?

I was hoping to network with family members from the Portland Oregon area...

Thank you,
Kathleen

I am not familiar with deerridge, however you can look up this facility on doc website and it will explain rules for this facility and calls, visits, etc.

Apearl, calls are 30 from SRCI. It is also closer to Boise ID, so if you did go there to visit you would be better off to fly to Boise. My understanding is it would be an hour drive. There is no visiting on mon or tues there. Also did you mean an AIP program?
Srci is in Ontario OR. Im not sure if Freedom Spirit is still operating if it is you may be able to stay there a little cheaper than motel. I understand there is a walmart and a few places and there are some people here on PTO who have a little more knowledge than I do on this matter. But you are at the right place and will get all the help you need.

My loved one was just transfered to Deer Ridge. I am in Vancouver, WA, and as soon as my visiting is approved, I will be more than glad to give people a ride.
