call to a cell phone - Harris County Jail - TX

alright need help here . how do you set it up to get a call on a cell phone? its a company phone so i dont want them to get the bill?

The phone company for Harris County is SBC. 1-888-292-6628

You set up an account with them for the phone and prepay. The minimum amount is $25.00 which can be mailed in or applied to a credit or debit card. The cost per call is $3.60 and the calls are approx 15-20 minutes.

I would suggest trying to keep track of the calls as the county phones often cut you off. I have called and once verified a charge with no minutes used they credited that call.

Oh, and daughter-n-law had a Verizon which we couldn't get connected at the time and had to get a cheepy Cricket. So make sure you ask when you sign up whether they are able to connect your particular phone.

i did it thanks.. took about 45mins on the phone to do it.. she even called today.. how did she know... she must know me to good..when she snaps i jump... thanks

Here is how you do it

Call 1(800) 844-6591...follow the prompts. You are goin to have to set up and account. It will ask you what number you want to use whether it be cell or landline..enter that. It will ask for you name, address, etc. You will also have to set a 4 digit pin. After that you can add money to the account using credit card...they have other options as well. Credit card is the fastest. I will say it is going to take 24 hrs to process but it has never taken that long for me at all. After all that your loved one can now dial that number and get through to you. The minimum amount you can put is $50.00 ... each call is $3.67 and it lasts for 15 min and they cut it off. Your loved one can call right back if they want...they can call as many times as they want...well until the money is out then you have to reload. Warning...I hate it when they say you have one minute left...then u habe 15 sec...and it cuts off...made me cry every time for the first week. My honey calls me atleast 6-7 times a day..the other guys luagh at him cuase he always on the phone..lol...we were inseperable...and now seperated without a choice. Word of advice...the jail phone system suxs! Sometimes you get cut off...losing your precious paid for time...you can call the same 800 number and complain...they will not credit anything over 6min. To file for that you have to go to their website...which i can not find where i wrote it down...got it today. But there is some form to fill out there. Make sure you write down the time and date you get cut off they will ask you...they did me. Hope this helps!

if you don't mind me asking, what provider do you use? I had AT & T and verizon and neither one would allow me to receive calls on my cell.
