Default I Wish You Well

My record is over 25 years old and in Michigan. I was a non-violant offender with 7-15 year sentence. Released in 1987, I have not re-entered the system since. I noticed right away that getting a meaning full job with promises of a career was next to impossible upon my release. After 911, the background checks jumped 100 fold and are here to stay.
Many States will exponge a record after a determined period of time without incident has expired.... Michigan will not exponge a record no matter how far back.
If you stay in Michigan thinge will never get better for you. My best advice is to find a simple job in another State, and start over. Your relatives and friends will simply have to understand and support your decision to move.
