Prison Marriage

me and my fiance have been trying to get married for months.the prison chaplain wont do it,ive emailed the cure chapter in north carolina where i am,but still nothing.can someone please give me some other options

Maybe the chaplain isn't licensed by the State to do marriages?? Some chaplains are just employee's of the State, not credited clergy. I don't know about NC tho?

If the marriage is approved by the warden, try and see if an outside clergymen can do the job.

THANX FOR THE ADVICE.THE CHAPLAIN CAN DO IT JUST REFUSES.IM TRYING NOW TO FIND A JUSTICE OF THE PEACE IN THE COUNTY JESSE IS IN.DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS MARRIAGE BY PROXY AND WHERE I CAN FIND MORE INFO ON IT?AGAIN THANX

check in the county clerks office they can tell you if they do it in NC

The chaplain where my fiance is doesn't do marriages either, but I was reffered by my lawyer to a man who does. Just call around to different churches, and if they don't maybe they can refer you to a minister who will. Try this link, and maybe you can find out something. Good luck sweetie!! check the chamber of commerce where you live and see if they can offer the names of officiants that are licensed to perform ceremonies in prisons

HI, I just thought I would add that when my fiance & I was refused persission,I contacted the Director of prisons for my state.

HI IM NEW TO THIS SITE AND MY FIANCE AND I ARE PUTTING IN OUR REQUEST FOR MARRIAGE. HE IS IN STATE PRISON IN CALIFORNIA, HE WONT BE RELEASED UNTIL 2008. ANY ADVICE THIS WHOLE THING IS NEW TO ME. I HAVE NEVER DEALT WITH THE PRISON SYSTEM BEFORE AND WE WANT TO GET MARRIED.
