Default New from SATF Corcoran 2

I went to visit my husband yesterday and he told me that G yard is now empty. He got this information from one of the CO's so I don't know if it is true or not. G yard is a drug yard and everyone from that yard has been sent home or to a drug program. The F yard which is also a drug yard is next and then they will do my husband yard which is A yard. He also heard inmates with 120 days or less are also being released. So don't know how true this is but thought I would pass it along.

Geez Vickie,
My son is on F yard! OMG!!!!! When he calls, I'll ask him if he has heard anything....and whether he can see G yard from where he is and see if it is empty. I think he can. He's got 10 months left though, so even if this is true, I doubt he's coming home...they'll probably just move him even further away....

He did help clean out the C yard (empty) about 2 weeks ago and also a gym somewhere on a special work detail. He was told by the CO that they needed to get things ready because CDC was closing down another prison the first of the year and they were making the gym into dorms.

Things sure are changing, huh? I wish they wouldn't keep the public in the dark.

Let me know what you find out. My husband did not say anything about C yard. So lets hope for the best.

Vickie,
I talked to my son tonight. He told me that "something" has been going down with G yard and he has been watching it for a couple weeks. He can see the yard from his window and says that it seems like the "not the usual activity" ,,,that guys were leaving and now he is seeing new groups of guys coming in from reception daily. Sounds like a lot of movement over there.
He also said that on F yard, they are starting to send about 6 guys home a day, and they are releasing them early he thinks. He says overall, the place is buzzing with change and there is a sense that there are going to be lots of big changes before the first of the year.
He doesn't figure that he's going anywhere with 10 months left to serve, but the word is that anybody with 160 days or less to the gate is going to a program. Done deal. And non-violent only is the word.
He's gonna keep his ears open.

Thanks for the update. If I hear anything new I will let you know. Have you been to see him recently? How is that new grandson? Hope all is well with you, take care.

Hi Vickie,
Nope I haven't been able to get down there for about 6 or 7 weeks now...breaks my heart, the poor guy needs a visit. He's being very understanding though, but I can hear it in his voice. I didn't want to go far from home with the baby due so soon, and now with the baby so new and Heather needing help, you know? She's got her hands full.
But I'm planning on going to visit the weekend before Christmas. Heather's not ready to tackle that trip with a new baby and a 14 month old yet, so she'll stay home this month. That baby is the cutest thing you've ever seen (except for his sister who was equally cute, of course). He went for his 2 week check up today and gained 2 pounds 1 ounce and grew 2 inches!!!! He's a little porker!!! He's a beautiful precious baby boy.
I'm one very very tired but very happy Grandma. Everyone is adjusting just fine, except this old grannie's butt is really draggin! but I'll get some rest this weekend and be just fine.
Hope all is well with you. Maybe if we visit on the same weekend we can get together down there and share a meal or something.
Let me know...

Cheri

Begonia
My husband is level 2 on A yard. He told me they are going to find out something after G yard does it's changes. My husband is in A1 what is your husband in?

Cheri
I will be down there Christmas and stay until Saturday. I was going to go down the weekend before also but it gets to be to much on me and tires me out so I will wait until Christmas and it is not easy. I hope someday we can get together for a meal. That would be real nice.

Take care you tired Granny.

what is happening is true the CDC is sending no violent prisoners home or drug rahabs. they want to close about 5 prisons by next year and 6.000 or more prisoners by the end of this year will be out of prison just not 3Xers or ones with long sentances. the prisons are getting to crowded and must save the money . I herd it from inmate family councel and facts news letters online it is all true.

hope this helps

Beth
