My son was just transferred to a different prison and i was wondering if anyone had a family member there or had heard anything about the place.

New River East
Correctional Institution
7819 N.W. 228th Street
Raiford, Florida 32026

CathyFL,
James was there before another time when he was in. He is at Gulf now 5 hours away from me and New River East was one of the places he was considering when he is eligible to request a transfer. He said it wasn't bad but that was also some years ago. I know that isn't much help but hope it eases your mind a little.

If you do to the http://www.dc.state.fl.us/index.html florida site you will see the same address is listed for both places....do you know if there next to each other this is weird...and i have to find my way there next weekend..lol

Ok i just checked some more and the Florida stae prison and union ci have the same address too!!!

Union was the old State Prison. They built FSP on the same tract of land.

I visit Lawtey all the time and New River East is nowhere to be seen. I dunno..

Maybe its a central address for all the prisons in that area.....im lost too!

I did a google search on "new river east correctional" and found this page. It gives directions.

Thank you very much i was there myself today the directions from the south are very vague though. Im wonderfing if i go 75 or what...

From South: Take US-301 to SR-16. Go west approximately 11 miles. East Unit is on the right

Florida State Prison, Union CI, New River East and West and Lawtey CI share the same address.When you write, you must not forget the last 4 digits after the ZIP code.

FSP: 32026-1000
Lawtey CI: 32026-2000
New River East and West: 32026-3000
UCI: 32026-4000

For instance, when I write Joey at FSP, I write 32026-1120.

Yes, FSP, Union, and New River are all together. Lawtey is nearby. All the mail goes thru one mailroom.
