"We" can challenge ourselves and society by challenging defacto slavery

I personally would never use those words, but that is just me. I find them highly offensive no matter who said them or how well meaning they were. There are plenty of ways to discribe someone being beaten within an inch of their life.

Whereas I agree with you, and I personally understand your trepidations, still, seeing the video of him being beaten, I can also understand why Mr. Scroggins chose those words; even though I wouldn't have. My opinion is he chose them as he deemed them effective, and I don't question such trivial decisions on his part; since he used it in the header of the post, so did I.
