Default Recalculated Release Date For Fire Camp Inmates

Just found out some information from JLS that I thought I would pass on to everyone. Ok he told me that 60 to 90 days before anyone is released their time is always recalulated to make sure it is correct. He also said that it is not unusal for a guy in camp to have his date changed. The reason for that is he said that most guys are usually back at SCC/CCC at some point in time for one reason or another and that when they are sent back the time there is not counted at the 35% is that is what they are gettig. So if your guy has been sent back at any time for any reason, medical, marriage, whatever and they are getting the 35% then most likely days will be added at the end just like what happen to C and me. If I remember correctly not long after C got to camp he had to to back to CCC to get something notarized and that must be where the extra days came from.

On another note I just got off the phone with Anniko and she wanted me to tell everyone to have a great weekend. She was on her way to a little trip to Canada and forgot to sign in and say hi to everyone and let everyone know she will not be around for the weekend.

Just another clarification on this...it doesn't affect the guys that have to serve 80% of their term. Only the ones serving 50%.

Thanks Shaa for the update....

My son had a release date for Nov 19, 2006 and was released from camp on Sunday, Nov 19, 2006. He never went back to CCC for anything. The Friday before his release, Nov 17, they called him in and said there was a BIG problem.
uh oh, WE MADE A MISTAKE , you should have been released in July!!
They said he could leave the next day which was Saturday, the 18th. He told them NO, I already have my plane ticket, I have no where to go..(We live in SoCAL and he was in Northern Cal) So he stayed the extra day.. They couldn't believe he chose to stay an extra day in prison.. The guys thought he was crazy!!
They did knock off 4 months from the end of his parole.

Wow someone should teach the people at CDC how to calculate peoples time correctly. I thought 16 extra days where bad but being there for 4 months you did not have to be is a lot worse. Maybe I will tell C that story and it might make him feel a little better.

Yea me to and now that has me worried cause according to JLS they will again recalculate C's release date when he is 10 days to the gate. What happens if they find out that the mistake they thought they made the first time really was not a mistake and tell him he can leave now there is no way I can change my plans again. Boy wouldn't that be totally messed up.

shaa, his name will be on the list. they post their names and release dates on a list and they keep checking the list to see if their name is there. First list is approx. 90 days to the gate, second is approx. 60 days to the gate, 3rd is approx. 30 days to the gate, next is approx 10 days to the gate, and finally about three days to the gate is the last one, that's when they found out about my son's release date. ( at Antelope Camp, this is how they did it..) took 'em long enough, huh?

Yea I know about the list. He has been on the list since about Feb. When he first got to camp he was told that his release date was 10/12, then in Feb. he saw the list and it said his release date was 10/11 so he had the co's check it and they said yes that was correct. I guess along his date stayed the same until last Thursday when they called him into the office to tell him his date had changed from 10/11 to 10/27. He thought they were joking with him again cause they did that once a couple of weeks ago trying to get him to believe there was a hold on him. But they said no it was not a joke this time and they showed him the paper from CCC and all that. Then they let him call me even if he did not sign up for a call to let me know so I could try to change all my plans. I hope it does not change again or I will really lose it.

Shaa-My husband is under the impression that you only get your out date changed if you go back to CCC for more than 30 days....??? Please help. He is doing 35% and went back to CCC for a week to go to another camp, and he is getting ready to go to another camp again so he most likely will go back to CCC again....I'm trippin!!!!! He is due out Feb. 09'

That is what C thought also but according to JLS who is a retired counselor from CCC it does not matter how long they go back any time at CCC is counted at only 50%. He said that a week back at CCC adds 3 days to the release date. That is what he told me. Now I do know that C only went back once to CCC for only 1 week and he was informed less than two weeks to the gate that they added 16 days to his release date. That is when I asked JLS about how this could happen and that is what he said to me. I will send you a copy of the PM he sent me.

Alora, good to see you sweetie. I think that if he went back to CCC from what I'm reading here is,that it will change his release date by a few days or so. When my friend had got released they miss-calculated his date by one day. Meaning he got out a day early and had to change his flight reservations once he got to the Airport. My suggestion for anyone here is,if your loved one is coming home by plane make it is a ticketless flight and make the reservation
Quote:
about three days to the gate
once he knows his exact release date and have him call home once he knows. Unless, you want to pay the extra $50.00 I think it is to change the flight.

Ladies,it's very comon for CDC'r to miss-calculate a release date. My friend didn't go back to prison for any thing either like PtRose son and they scrwed up on his too. He also was at Antelope Camp not that the camp he was housed had anything to do with it. The people they hire to calculte a release etc that's all they do. Once they calculate the date the counselor then is informed which is passed on to the inmate.

Wow! I will have him fill out that form ASAP!!! The 3 days will probably turn into 6 because he's getting ready to do a good guy transfer, which he will probably have to go back to CCC AGAIN!!! This is all so nerve racking!

Yea I'm back all! Thanks! I've just been so busy with the kids & I went back to school & I'm tryna work too, so I'm just all over the place! LOL But I've missed y'all! How's everyone doing?

If I'm understanding correctly, someone with an 85% sentence release date will not change because they have to do 85% of their sentence regardless of where they are. Unless of course they get a 115 and get days added to their sentence. They also can have to do an extra day if they have high control parole. I finally just got to the point of not believing my son was coming home until he got in the car. Luckily I did not have travel plans to worry about as so many of you do.

What if they are doing 80% does the time change when they go to camp?

Thanks!

No, if they are sentenced to serve 80% or 85% of their sentence their time does not get reduced when they go to camp.

Unhappy

I was finally able to speak to my boyfriend today after a week of him being out on calls, but he had bad news. They are sending him back to Susanville(supposedly for a week, we'll see) to get a steriod shot cause he has poison oak really bad. Does any one know if that will effect his release date? He is getting the fire camp credit cause he is serving his sentence at 50%. I read somewhere that they can loose a few days but he said he was told that only happens if he is at Susanville over 30 days. Any info will help lots....Gracias
