Alcohol free and sealed shampoos, conditioners, lotions..
I am going to visit my b/f at Downstate on Saturday and would love to find these things. I called the prison and they said that's the only way they will accept toiletries.
Now, I went to 7 SEVEN!!!!! Duane Reade, Rite Aid, CVS you name it and didn't find a single not even one shampoo or lotion or conditioner sealed and alcohol free.
Where do you get yours? Thanks for your help. I'm so frustrated....
varietyaplus.com - this is what i use to send my bf stuff. it is alcohol free and it caters to the nys docs rules - a c.o. actually told me about this one and it's been so easy to use it
other than that i use
drugstore.com...because when it comes from an outside vendor, it doesn't need to be hermetically sealed but it must be alcohol free. u can even use cvs.com
Thank you rberlin, this really helps, I was getting really frustrated here. I think I'll wait until he gets to his permanent prison before I send these. He's in reception now.
My friend mentioned that Drugstore.com has a listing of alcohol free free products but I can find it. Can someone tell me what shampoo they where able to send from a vendor like drugstore.com?
Ok, Ive got a question. I am not allowed to send stuff, so to i would have no idea. I read all posts, so now I find myself curious.
Alcohol free?? Um, what do they think they are gonna drink the shampoo and get drunk or something??? I can understand about it having to be sealed, but does anyone know why the no alcohol rule is?
there are shampoos without achohol in them - origins off of 6th avenue and 50th streeet sells a mint shampoo for 10.00 but also there are shampoos and lotions i buy in a regular drug store to take on the trailers with me without achohol. try sauve or another shampoo in that category..

Just curious.... [/b]
It's crazy right? But I guess they figure if a person gets hard up enough they'll drink almost anything ... and if they drink enough of it they may get a little buzz ...

Sealed means with the commercial plastic wrap around the product. You would have to tear it to open. It's very simple, to this day I haven't found a single one (lotion or shampoo) that they accepted. I did find some deo though (it has to be a stick, no gel) that they took. Of course no alcohol.
i think that the alcohol issue has to deal with getting high. In some third world countries, kids do get high on stuff containing alcohol...
