SHU questions

I know you all will be a good resource for this part of the journey.I will let you know when he starts his term and for how long when I know.I'm not sure if he will stay in Ad Seg until the DA either picks up the case or throws it out or if he will go right to the SHU?

What is he allowed to recieve........
Stamps?
Pre stamped envelopes?
Pictures?
Money Orders?
Packages?
Cd's,tapes,books?

Visits......

How often?
For how many hours?

Are they allowed outside often?
Single person cells or ?

I'm learning about all this as well as things have changed since my son was last in the SHU. Yes, pre stamped envelopes 20@a time. Pictures I think with no backing. Money orders yes. visits yes, I don't know the deal on packages anymore. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Yes 20 at a time
Pictures?
Yes best way is to put them on a single piece of paper and have them copied so that he gets a number of pictures on one page.
Money Orders?
Yes postal are the best
Packages?
Once a year after you receive the paper work you send it on to the vendor
Cd's, tapes,books?
Books Yes from a store only

Visits......
Yes Sat-Sun only morning or afternoon, about 2 ½ hour each behind glass

How often?
Every weekend
For how many hours?
About 2 ½ hours

SHU in general......
Clean and so far the people there have been very nice to me

Are they allowed outside often?
They don’t every really go outside, they go into a yard that is covered over with plexy glass so they can never see the sky or anything else.
Single person cells or?
Mostly single but some cellies

God Barb that sounds so depressing never being able to see the sun,clouds,sky etc. It just doesn't seem fair or right does it?
