1st violation of misdemeanor probation... what to expect?
Hey guys -
I have a DWI conviction (1st offense) - I was grated 18 months of probation and have basically not reported or participated in the supervision program for the last 6 months. My case was transferred from Plano to Dallas and a warrant was issued.
The warrant was served last night and I spent the evening in Jail. I bonded out and must report to Collin Co. within 10 days.
There is a balance owed on my account for probation. I have a lawyer, but am not able to meet with him right away.
This is my first violation, no dirty UA's or arrests or anything besides this one...
What should I expect? Will my probation be revoked or reinstated?
Will I have to do a significant amount of time in jail?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated because I can't get out of my own head.
The answer depends so much on local court practices that you'd really be better off speaking to you rattorney about this. In addition to teh time, you'll be wanting to know about whether you'll be able to do some form of alternative sentenceing (weekend work project or house arrest). Ift also depends on why you've been AWOL. In some jurisdictions, it'd help if you could get coulght up with your payemnts. If you've ben doing AA or some form of counseling, that'd be a good fact.
