Unhappy can't get a job becuase i have a felony.

i got busted for a felony for dist/maj. i got hired in at a bank and was up front with my conviction. After working for a week and get bisnuss cards, a letter sent to 200 of my previous custmers saying that i have moved to washington mutal mortgage. they said they couldn't hire me because of my felony. is there any kind of actions i can take against them. I feel cheated. The other guy who hired in with me had a felony and didn't mark it on his application. I don't know if it matters but his was the three strike for drunk driving. They consider it a felony after three DUI'S.

i have gone through a similar prob were i was fired from my job because i was convicted of a felony and i consulted my lawyer who said without a sighned contract stating there intentions to keep me on for a certain length of time then they could fire me for any reason they deemed fit as long as it was not based on age sex coler creed or disability ya i know it REALLY sucks; just keep searching an dyou will find an employer who is understanding.

I'm sorry to hear that some of you are having trouble finding jobs and are being fired because of your past.
It's a shame that society doesn't let you forget what you did. or how you've paided your debt to them.
I don't know about other states but in Pa, once the job has been offered and you have been up front about your past, it's not that easy to get fired. The process of verbal, written and final warnings have to come into play.
I had a young lady work for me that put on her Apt that she was fired from J.C.Pennys for stealing money from the register, My DM offered her a job after just interviewing her without knowing her past. but because she put it down in her apt and gave her 2 weeks notice. we were stuck giving her a job. Pa is a at Will state, which means a company can fire you at will. Many don't because of Lawsuits

As far as jobs go, You can't work at a prison you can't work at any jobs that require you to carry a gun. there are few than they are many.

Don't be discouraged just keep going, Right before i got locked down, I was the Production Manager for QVC. went from making a 6 figure salary to making 11cents an hour.
Upon release i located a ex-offenders program and they helped me get a job right away, it wasn't the greatest job in the world but i brought a paycheck home.
that was 13 years ago. I haven't looked back till now simply because i rather cut grass and pick up garbage then to spend another day in prison.

I wish you all Success in your Future, Remember someone out there will give you an opporrtnity to better yourself in a wonderful job just be patience and remember it's better to be out in the world upset where at least you can go outside in the back yard and scream, then to be locked down with no where to go except back and forth.
