was he in county or was he at another facility. because if he was in county then he maybe he got his sentence and he is now in reception waiting to placed at a facility. since this is your first post i'm not sure if you know what reception is but it's where they are placed until there is room at a prison for then. he may go to any prison. while in reception there are no visits except with his lawyer and those are non contact. he may be able to write that is if he was in county and had paper and envelopes, if he was he is only allowed about ten of each. he may be there for any amount of time but it usually doesn't take more than a month for then to transfer him to what they will call his parent institution. hope this helps if you need more info just post right here or pm me and hopefully and i can answer whatever question you make have.

It should say "reception" if he's in receiving. He's in a very low level part of the prison, so that is a good thing. He'll be active and working.

He isn't in receiving. He has been in another prison since November. They just moved him to the farm last week.

Default Statesville Farm Questions

Well I'm lost too! We have just received a letter from my son that he has moved from Reception to the Statesville Farm. The brief letter says send money and that he expects to stay there until wok release. Is this possible? Can anyone tell me WHY it seems so very hard to find info about the Statesville Farm and why it is not specifically named on IDOC?

We are feeling a little desperate for info! Many thanks! M

Hi I'm new to PT and I don't know how to ask online questions but I noticed you have info on Stateville farm in Joilet Illinois. My son has just been moved from reception to the Farm and we are wondering if he will stay there until he gets work release. This is his first offense non violent 6 year sentence. He has only been at reception since Sept 8th so we are just starting through this process and we are a really really worried! The one letter we have received from him at the Farm says it's beyond awful!

Any info would help us cope!!! Many thanks in advance!!!

Mamasan
