Default Passport? When will he get it back?

My hubby is due home in two weeks and I want us to spend 2 weeks in France about three weeks after he gets out. Does anyone know when he will get his passport back and how long after he is out is he allowed to travel abroad. They took his passport when he was arrested to stop him leaving the country. Any help would be greatful thanks.

Perhaps contacting the Embassy is the best bet... or if he is on parole... you would have to see what his parole conditions are. Sorry not too familiar with overseas travel.

Perhaps his lawyers would be the best ones to ask. I don't think there's any restriction on going to other European countries once his passport has been returned and, once he's served his time, they have no reason to hold on to that.

Thanks guys, He wont be on licence but he will have to attend probation once a week.
He is due out on 20th so I'll wait till then and ask the probation officer.

Does anyone know if its true that you cant enter America if you have been to prison in another country?
My sister was inside and has been to America many times but on another forum, a man stated that he was sent back to england and told he needs a visa, which he was later denied.
