My husband just got to the yard at USP Coleman I. I told him that according to the website, they have access to email. He says he was told that they can use a computer to sign up on a "pen pals" web site but no email. This makes no sense to me and we're now arguing about it.
Does anyone get emails from Coleman I? I need to find out who he needs to contact about this, too.
Any help would be appreciated, 300 minutes are flying by!!!

There's no way he can directly sign up on a website as federal prisoners have no access to the internet. I don't know if USP Coleman I has the TruLinks email system or not - perhaps someone else will come along and tell you. Z.

Coleman has Trulincs, which is the inmate email system.

I don't know where he is getting his info from, but he has access to email if he wants it.

He's still saying they don't have email. Would the education dept have any info on it? I think I'll just call and ask who he needs to contact to set it up. I'm just hesitant because they generally just give you BS info anyway.

Is anyone getting emails from USP Coleman 1???

I know that Coleman Low has email. There they signup with their counselor. Not too sure about USP I though. I thought all Colman had it. www.inmatemessage.com used to have the list, but now it just redirects to the bop site.

No when they use the email it does not get taken off their phone minutes. Instead it costs them 5 cents per minute for sitting at the computer. So it costs them to read email and to write email.

Hope that helps

If they can only add them on the first, then they can only remove them then also. It's the same form. You circle in the add or remove dot.

Coleman Low has email, and I believe USP I (not positive on this one) does. they have it at the women's camp (Coleman Med) too, but not at the II. Look deeper into it, because it's definitely there.

Update - my guy is now at Milan. Do they have Trulinks? Also how does the 300 mins of phone time work. Is this provided or does the inmate have to purchase?
