Wedding date/dates?

I will tell you all the whole story so that I do not leave anything out. When Ronnie(oops! my pet name for him that he doesn't like) proposed to me he had phone time on Valentine's Day. So then and there after I had said hello he asked me to marry him because he had put it in a letter and didn't want me to read it, he wanted me to hear it. We then finally decided on a date of November 16th. A few months ago after his papers were sent out that all changed, I postponed it thinking that if the papers came back before that date that he'd probably be in Cook County in that jail for his court hearings and that depressed me. So I talked to Ron about this and he said that he never put that part into consideration so then we both decided to postpone it and that wasn't easy,either! Now we still haven't heard from the papers and we have been waiting since the end of May. I know it probably took them awhile to get from Menard(Randolph Co.) to Cook Co. but you think he would have heard something by now. Anyway, we both are talking about how he can't wait for me to be his wife and that I can't wait for him to be my husband. Our wedding bands are almost paid for at Wal-Mart and he is helping me pay for them out of the State Pay that IL. gives him which is $10 and he sends me $5 of that $10 to pay for the bands.
I wrote and sent a letter to him a couple days ago asking him if we could get approved for a October wedding!! I will also ask him this on the phone tomorrow and see what he thinks. If so, then (on top of the new radio) this will be my b-day present to him, ME. I don't know if we can pull it off, but it is worth a try. We really love and care for each other and he loves my son as his own. I guess I will know tomorrow. I know he has to put in to see the chaplin and that could take a week or so, but if I have to I will call and talk to him as well. I guess all in all, we can't wait to be Mr.& Mrs.Ronald Edward Burnett!!!!! I will keep you updated on what I find out and I just hope and pray that everything goes the way we want it to.

I was told by the Menard prisons chaplain that the procedure there is a 30 days period from request for the marriage to the approval or non-approval. But that was valid for a level A prisoner on DR and I don't know if that would apply to your situation too.
I found out that my fiancé was trying to get hold of someone who could tell him about how it works for several days without any success. I called the chaplain myself and he went over to see my fiancé right the next day. Maybe calling the chaplain yourself would not be a bad idea?
