Talking so, i survived harris county jail - Texas!

i only got 120days...which it was 2 for 1, so i did 57days because i spent 3 days in jail in dec. before getting bonded out. i thought if i had to spend one more day in there, i would for sure go insane! im so blessed i did not get more time. the first month and 1/2 really wasnt too bad. i mean, it sucked, its jail its not supose to be fun or enjoyable. the officers do not do their job. people get away with anything, as long as they arent bothering whoever is working. i put in a request for medical to see mhmra to get on my anti-depressants and some sleeping meds. i was supose to see mhmra during processing, but i only saw medical. medical was a joke. i had surgury on my spine like 2yrs ago and have been having problems recently...expecially from sleeping on steel in jail. i told the dr. i had muscle spasms and i take aleve religiously for pain. the "doctor" told me i shouldnt still be in pain. he will give me muscle relaxers, but not for my whole stay...it turns out, that ment 3 weeks and i got 120 800mg ibuprofen. ok....back to mhmra...i started putting in requests to see them on about march 15th thru april 15, when i finally just gave up. they called me down to medical to see mhmra on about april 30th. i had to sit in a holding tank for 15 hours just to refuse mhmra services. then when i refused, the lady was tring to talk me into seeing the dr. anyways...her exact words " if you go ahead and see the dr. now, we will have your info on file when you come back to jail again" wtf...when, not if. what a heffer. i did meet a few people that made my time easier. one girl my age with 2 kids got 10yrs probation for burglury of a habitation. of course she didnt make the 10yrs...not due to a failed UA...but some personal stuff. we became pretty close and she got 4yrs tdc. it pissed me off because i saw plenty of repeat offenders who had no plans of changing that would get a a month or so for posession or a 7th prostution charge. all in all, it wasnt too bad, i lost 10lbs and had plenty of time to reflect on things...expecially how i let myself to get this point in life and how this is my chance to take a new lease of life, or continue to sell and do drugs. i perfer the new lease on life. my brother was in the same boat as me...he just never got caught...but he joined the army and goes off to basiv training for the army tomorrow. i will miss him, but im glad he is doing something productive and i dont have to worry about him od'ing now. my boyfriend gets out in 3 months and he also plans to stay sober. i believe he wants to, but what he says and does are 2 different things. i will give him a chance, but if he messes it up, i canot continue to live how we use to. soberity comes before my relationship right now....anywho....hello, again everyone! thanks for listening...any question or whatever, i will gladly answer

I am glad you are out of there!!! Issues with MHMRA and medical are, unfortunately, the norm at Harris County.
