Default What do I do about this phone situation?

Hi Guys!!

I have a problem trying to get a phone bill!! yes, I know! Most of you would LOVE to have that problem!! haha But I am scared to death I am going to get a huge bill I can't pay...
The situation is tricky, we use different phone equipment than the regular pay phone. I'm in NY and he is in NY.
The CO has to dial the outside operator. Whenever I get a call it is AT and T operator assisted.
Well, the first month, no collect call charges showed up on my ATT Long Distance bill. ATT is my regular LD carrier. Then, last month, 2 charges showed up on my regional/local bill, on a seperate section. (we'd had about 4 calls by then)
I tried to find out what was going on, After a couple of hours on the phones, I was told because the number my husband calls is a secondary number, the calls could not be billed to my regular ATT lomg distance account and would show up on my regional/local server bill. Fine, no problem...
This month the calls did not show up on the local regional OR the ATT bill.
Anyone know how I find out where the charges are and how to gett them paid? I don't want a huge bill (it probably already is! sigh) and I don't want a block when I haven't even gotten a bill from anyone as yet.
thanks

My calls are from New York to Michigan and they bill like every other month. Maybe that is why you haven't heard anything as yet. I hate being billed that way because my man from here in Michigan, his calls appear on a monthly basis and I like that better. My NY friend that calls here is getting out next week, so his last call is tomorrow.

That's good news Lea-Ann, nice that the friend is getting out! smiles

Maybe what you say is right, that it will bill every couple of months...I hope I don't have a heart attack when I see the first one! LOL sigh

Caprione - Are you using TTD or some other specialized equipment? Normally, New York facilities are all contracted to an MCI subsidiary called "Correctional Services" (gag), unless you already have MCI as a carrier, or unless you're with one of the small local companies they have contractual relations with. In fact, a couple of our representatives have been found guilty of underhanded doings in regard to getting MCI that state contract (Accepting bribes).
They do bill on a monthly basis.

After a few more calls, I've been told the collect calls should be showing up on my phone bill next month. I guess the way things are, it takes awhile to get the bill info to my local/regional company. Thanks for the replies from all of you. I'll let ya know how this turns out. Somehow, I am SURE 'they' will get their money. ha smiles
