I think if you search the threads there will be one that list state by state & they may have rules or a link to rules listed. If all else fails, look up the prison website and call to ask someone. Most times it's pretty easy to get through and get a question answered. Best of luck.
The telephone number for SMCI (the prison in Leakesville) is (601) 394-5600. You can give them a call and they'll be able to help you. As far as I'm aware, no prisons in Mississippi allow you to bring any food in. There are several people in the Mississippi forum that have loved ones in this prison that will be able to give you more information on it.
My son just transfered to this prison and I wanted to find out when are visitation times. And are we able to bring food to him! Viv
Welcome to the Mississippi Forum.
Visitation days are by unit. He will send you forms to complete and submit to be approved for visits and let you know when his days are. As a rule one of their visit weeks they have Sunday and another Saturday. NO visits the 5th Sat or Sun of the month.
You CANNOT BRING ANYTHING except you, your key (which is turned in at entry) and $20 in quarters in a clear bag and your ID. Cars are inspected thoroughly so I advise clean it out, no tools etc.
I have been visiting there for several years so ask away.
There are several threads here about visits there, please read and ask questions before going. The officers are decent to civilians but they will turn you away for rule violations.
