I Went To My Local Newspaper And Ordered A Newspaper Delivery To Pinckneyville Prison Using His Name And Inmate Number. You Can Do It Weekly, Monthly Or Yearly. My Loved One Gets Our Local Paper Were He Is FRom Everyday In Prison. It Keeps Him Up To Date On Whats Going On In His Home Town. It Isn't That Costly And It Gives Him Somthing New To Read Everyday. You Can Do This From Anywhere Your From.
Just Some Food For Thought
I sent Tommy the local Paper from Douglas AZ since it is WAY different living on the Mexican Border than living in Fl.....Well that just made Tommy not want to live here when he gets out! LOL So I am moving to GA where I already have a farm 30 miles from FL...I thought he would love AZ but I guess once a FL Boy always a FL Boy..LOL
Not here in Shreveport...they wont send them to Angola...but they can get the local paper outta Baton Rouge...ahhh my baby isnt from Baton Rouge he doesnt care about them...I sure wish I could send him the paper from HIS home town.
Thats a great idea, thanks for the tip. Getting a daily newspaper from home will certainly cheer my friend up and help keep them up to date with whats going on. Hell they will even know more than me because I don't actually read the paper.
That is a really great idea, thanks for sharing.
I was wondering if anyone had done this to prisons in Illinois and if its allowed, and also, what papers are local to Illinois? (sorry, probably sounds like a really stupid question but I'm from australia and know nothing about the papers over there..)

I would do it if a subscription to our local paper wasn't an arm, leg, and parental rights to two of your future children. I get him magazine subscriptions, instead...some of which, are based here in Houston...so that helps some. For a year's worth of papers...it'd be $204. That's about 17 magazine subscriptions. LOL!
No problem! Well I was looking at a map...LOL! You could maybe get a paper from Springfield, IL or Peoria, IL because they are both pretty close. Mt. Sterling only has a population of like 2,000 people.

When my husband was in prison in Illinois, I had the paper from CA sent weekly to him..We were moving there upon his release and he wanted to look the classifieds over.. It was nice..
I have not done that while he has been here, though he did mention that he would like an oklahoma paper .
